The green heart of Manhattan is the décor of many movies and a great place to relax, wander around, roller-skate, cycle or even go boating (with a model boat) on the Conservatory Water. Many come here for a workout around the Reservoir. The park is a very nice break from the busy streets and a good place for a picnic as well. If you are a John Lennon fan don't forget to visit Strawberry fields, near to where the Beatle used to live (Dakota Building on 77th and west)

When you go to New York try to schedule a sunday because going to a service in Harlem is a special experience. Even if you are not religious it can be a very moving event to attend a gospel service.

The Staten Island ferry

runs on a fifteen minute schedule and is the cheapest and most enjoyable way to see the harbours of New York, the skyline and the Statue of Liberty. Have a nice seat outside in the sun and enjoy!
The statue remains an icon and being near it is a must when you come to Manhattan the first time. The special ferry service has a severe security procedures, but the ride is very nice. It is however not allowed any more to go inside the statue. If you do not want to pay you can also go on the free ferry to Staten Island

and you will ride past it and you can make some great pictures.
Centred on 42nd Street and Broadway - a place filled with video screens and LED signs. A world wonder or a tourist nightmare depending on your perspective, it is a must see. Come after dark and enjoy the lights.
