This section of the city is the most visited part of Amsterdam by tourists. All the main higlights are in it. It consists out of the world famous old city in between the canals, and the 18th century western lay out of the City called 'Jordaan'. This is a nickname after the French word 'Jardin' which means: garden. It was nicknamed by that cause all the streets and canals where called after flowers. It is the section of the town between Keizersgracht and Stadhouderskade, west of it. |
