Architecture in Amsterdam

Amsterdam is famous for its old inner city with its half-moon canal structure along the canals slim high "grachtenpanden" are build as houses. Radials cut through the half-moon structure ending on a square where the old city ports used to be. ´The Venice of the North´ consists of approximately 90 islands divided by ± 100 km canals which are connected by ± 200 bridges.
